"How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't even trust his own pants."
Frank (Henry Fonda) Once Upon a Time in the West
"If man did not exist as a world-spanning receptive
realm of perception, if he were not engaged in this capacity, nothing at
all could exist. 'Being,' in its traditional usage, means 'presence' and
'persistence.' To achieve presence, and thereby being, an entity requires
some sort of open realm in which presence and persistence can take place.
Thus an open realm of perception like that of human existence is the one
being that makes being possible."

“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of
the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach
our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris
is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are?
We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a
marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has
never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever
fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a
Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you
are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is,
like you, a marvel? You must work, we must all work, to make the world
worthy of its children.”

Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

What method do you use to prepare your coffee or tea?
Submitted by AgentBouche.
I love coffee and the kitchen holds probably every coffee making device known to man. They range from a Bodum French Press to a Moka, to the percolator that's best used over a camp fire. Each has its place. Of course none of this stops me from visiting the village coffee shop or the occasional Tim Horton's drive thru.
At the end of a really nice meal, however, nothing beats the Rancilio
What is your favorite kind of bagel and what do you put on it?
Submitted by Nacwolin.
Thanks to one of my favorite neighbors, Chris ... It's poppy seed from either the Fairmont or St-Viateur bagel shops in Montreal. It is said that Isadore Shlafman brought the first bagel recipe to Montreal in 1919 from his native Russia. It's the same recipe used today at the Fairmont. Which is better St-V or Fairmont? Well it's six of one, half a dozen of the other (ha ha never thought I'd get to use that)! Either way, fresh out of the oven, it has to be poppy seed.
Chris, I have such a craving now!
